Colorado Gives Day(CGD) will be here before we know it and there is a lot to do before it arrives if you want your organization to run a successful campaign. Colorado Gives Day offers participating organizations a variety of resources to prepare and make the most of your campaign. Below we have outlined important dates, prize information, and checklists and tools to make the day run smoothly.


Important Dates and Deadlines

  • September 30: Deadline to submit a nonprofit profile for first review or to update an existing profile. Please visit the eligibility section of the CGD website to learn more.

  • November 29: #GivingTuesday. Use the day to encourage people to Give Early.

  • December 6: Colorado Gives Day!

  • December 31: Disbursement for money raised on Colorado Gives Day plus Incentive Fund earnings.

  • By end of January: Disbursement for money raised in the month of December (excluding Colorado Gives Day) plus prize winnings.

Colorado Gives Day Checklist

  • Post on social media multiple times with updates and reminders

  • Highlight any matching donors you have or talk about the Incentive Fund and how you would use the Incentive Funds to support your organization .

  • Send an email blast during the day to donors.

  • Have your volunteers call donors.

  • Tell people how you did and say thank you!

  • Have volunteers call donors to thank them within 48 hours.

  • Share your results on social media.

Prizes

  • Grand Prizes: Receive at least 30 donations on CGD to be automatically entered into a random drawing to win one the following:

    • $5,000

    • $10,000

    • $15,000

  • Facebook Trivia Contest: An online trivia contest hosted by FirstBank Monday, Nov. 28 – Friday, Dec. 2, 2022. Join the FirstBank Facebook page to answer questions posted twice daily. Winners will be randomly selected from those who posted correct answers. Increase your odds of winning by inviting donors, employees, volunteers, families, and friends to play!

    • $1,000 (10 winners)

  • Rally Around the State: A regional champion will be selected from all 16 regions of the state.

    • $15,000 (16 winners)

  • Early Giving: $1,000 will be given away once a week to a randomly selected nonprofit that receives an early gift between Nov. 1- Dec. 4.

    • $5,000 (6 chances to win)

  • Golden Ticket Power Hours: Five lucky nonprofits will be randomly selected to win an extra $5,000 prize on Colorado Gives Day.

    • $5,000 (5 winners)

  • Newbie Prize: Is your organization new to Colorado Gives Day? Register by Sept. 30 for an opportunity to be randomly selected as a winner.

    • $5,000 (3 winners)

  • Wait! There’s more! : If a donor creates a fundraiser on your organization’s behalf, you could be randomly selected to win one of two $5,000 prizes.

    • $5,000 (2 winners)
