While the pace can feel relentless, this moment of transition is also one of the most powerful opportunities for learning, reflection, and recalibration.

The State of ZIM
As we move into the final stretch of the year, many nonprofit teams are balancing grant submissions, year-end fundraising, and 2026 planning. November can feel like a race to the finish line, but it is also an important moment to pause and acknowledge progress. Since September 1st, ZIM has partnered with clients to submit more than 292 grants, reflecting an incredible effort to bring essential resources to organizations. This year also marked an exciting expansion of our national reach, with new partnerships in Missouri and Louisiana.

New Faces, Big Wins, and Community Events
As summer winds down, ZIM is gearing up for a bustling fall season. In this edition, we’re sharing exciting updates about our growing team, spotlighting the organizations currently recruiting board members, and helping you prepare for fall grant deadlines. Read on for all the latest!

A Message from Shira Zimmerman, CEO
At ZIM, we’re fortunate to be able to see the nonprofit landscape from a macro perspective. What we’ve seen so far in 2026 is a renewed emphasis on diversifying revenue sources. We’ve had a growing number of requests for grant research, corporate research, and individual/major gift prospect research. We’ve also been asked to strategize around new earned revenue approaches. If your nonprofit is looking to further diversify your revenue sources, reach out to us!

Federal Policy Shifts Impacting Grants and Giving
As the end of the year draws near, many nonprofits are feeling the strain of rising program costs, increased demand for services, and a more challenging fundraising landscape. Fall can be a particularly challenging time as organizations work to meet community needs while waiting for year-end donations to pick up.
